Class of 2020 Update

Cumberland County Schools (CCS) has convened a graduation advisory team, which is composed of district and school administrators, staff and students. The team is gathering feedback and considering options for celebrating graduating seniors while adhering to the social distancing guidance provided by local and state health officials. The team is considering a range of options and will provide an update to families in the coming days.

“This is new territory for us,” said CCS Superintendent Dr. Marvin Connelly, Jr. “However, we are committed to celebrating the Class of 2020. This is a top priority for us, and we will share updates with everyone in the near future.”

The district has approved a distribution plan for senior regalia. Each high school will communicate with seniors and families regarding the pick-up schedule, which is when students will pick up their senior regalia, announcements, etc. All social distancing rules will apply during each delivery event. Additionally, all seniors will be receiving a yard sign from CCS, which can be picked up during cap and gown distribution. For more information, students and parents should visit their high school’s website.
