CCS Launches Cumberland@Home YouTube Channel

Fayetteville, N.C. – As students continue to learn at home during the COVID-19 pandemic, Cumberland County Schools (CCS) is launching Cumberland@Home Connections, a YouTube channel that will provide engaging educational content for students in kindergarten through eighth grade.

Videos will include book readings, “do it yourself” obstacle courses and STEM challenges. An example of a weekly schedule is as follows:

 Monday: STEM & World Language
 Tuesday: Art & PE (elementary)
 Wednesday: Music & Library Read Aloud
 Thursday: Art & PE (secondary)
 Friday: CTE (Interview Tips, Culinary Arts) & STEM

“Moving to online learning has been a new normal for all of us – teachers, students, and families,” said Dr. Stacey Wilson-Norman, chief academic officer for CCS. “We want to continue to look for ways to support parents and connect students to learning. Our teachers continue to amaze us, our students are resilient and our parents remain committed to their child’s success.” The videos will be uploaded to YouTube daily (Monday through Friday) and featured on the district’s Facebook page to provide an additional layer of academic enrichment for students.
